After suffering a loss in the spring of 2008, Michelle took a year off but is back recording new music. MICHELLE CRUZ is a singer/songwriter who blends jazz, folk and rock in her music. Michelle was asked to perform for her music hero, the late Jeff Buckley, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Fan Gathering and Tribute concert in Cleveland which proved to be a life changing experience.
"It was a surreal experience being there. To be part of a celebration for someone who inspired you so much and to be thanked by his family, friends and fans was nothing short of amazing. I felt like I had to stop myself and ask if it was all really happening. He was the reason why I finally picked up a guitar. A dream come true."
Named Sultry by the Jeff Buckley International Newsletter, Michelle (a 3 time Motif Music Awards nominee) has opened for the likes of Judy Collins,appeared at WXPNs World Cafe Live and was asked to pay tribute to the late folk legend Odetta at a 2010 MLK Jr. Day Celebration. Michelle recently landed in the Top 15 for the Lilith Fair Talent Search.

The Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project is a grassroots organization dedicated to creating a forum for the homeless community to engage in advocacy, outreach, organizing, and action to end homelessness as we know it in Rhode Island. As an organization comprised almost exclusively of homeless and formerly homeless individuals, RIHAP believes that nobody knows more about homelessness and its solutions than those who have experienced it.
RIHAP holds open meetings weekly. Current issues RIHAP is involved in include re-funding the Neighborhood Opportunities Program (the state's only source of money for affordable housing), pushing legislation that would make it a hate crime to assault a homeless individual in Rhode Island, and attempting to open a respite facility and day center for Providence's homeless community.

Shannon started experimenting with her own, homemade biscotti recipes. Her aim: to make the most delicious, delectable, and divine biscotti that would satisfy even the sweetest of sweet-tooths.
On January 1, 2009, TWIST Biscotti Company was officially born. With headquarters in Burrillville, RI, TBC has shipped all over the United States, and aims to put RI on the map as "Home of the Country's Best Gourmet Biscotti" If you have not yet sampled our unique cookies, then you don't know what you are missing!

At TWIST Biscotti Company, we are dedicated to providing our customers with fresh, high quality, gourmet products, using only the best ingredients. Although our business is but 1 year old, our passion for biscotti spans almost two decades. The idea for TBC was conceived by owner, Shannon McClure, years ago as a young girl in her great-grandmother's kichen.
"When I was a child, my great-grandmother, Louisa, frequently had almond biscotti on hand when we came to visit. Although it was tasty, as a child I always wondered why she never had any chocolate or vanilla biscotti? And why wasn't it smothered with all kinds of yummy toppings? From that day on I decided I was going to make biscotti with a twist - a sweeter, more dessert like cookie, that didn't need to be dunked in coffee and could stand alone"
